Young Girl at Play

It always struck me how people consider you if you are in a playful mood. There is a disconnect between being a grown up and keeping in touch with your childish self. Stay clear of childish pursuits and ambitions, the adult world is monotonous and joyless. Our function in society can be seen as a convenience designed to maintain the frivolous lifestyles of a few.

Here, captured in a moment of grace, a young girl has temporarily obliterated what is expected and has one purpose in mind only; catching those bubbles.

I experimented with black and white 120 film for this. The grain has a timeless quality suited to the topic of the eternal child within us.
