Martin Parr, International Man of Cheeky

You’ve got to love a man who poses this way.

I first became aware of Martin Parr at an exhibit of his work in Paris. I was immediately sucked in. What I like most about Martin Parr is his humour, so typically English.
To me, humour (and art in general come to think of it) is an individual’s way to observe the world around and extract details which have universal status.

His series revolve around tourism, quirks and social gatherings. I particularly enjoyed the series Bored Couples, Signs of The Times and Think of England, but everything he does is absolute gold.

Here’s a little video compilation of some of Martin Parr’s photographs with a lil’ electro experiment in the background.
